Dishoom Kensington, London

Paying homage to the golden age of the Indian Jazz and Art Deco scene based after 1940’s Bombay, Dishoom is an Iranian style small-plates restaurant with a grand setting.

Just off Kensington High Street, located in the former Barker’s Building, Dishoom is the fifth branch of this delicious Indian restaurant chain. The art deco interiors are a sight to behold with detailed glass panelling, softly curved leather seating for 200 diners, parquet floors and soft wall colours with pictures of jazz icons mounted to them.

To add that extra finesse to these sumptuous surroundings Hodkin and Jones designed and supplied ceiling plaster mouldings that would enhance the beautiful vintage lighting and contribute to the overall retro setting.

A Hodkin and Jones fibrous plaster lighting trough can really give a room that gentle glow giving a relaxed and ambient atmosphere in the most subtle but effective of ways.

Hodkin and Jones have also supplied and manufactured a decorative plaster ceiling to the Dishoom Covent Garden flagship eatery featuring ceiling panels, cornice, ceiling roses and halo rings. Read more here.

Hodkin and Jones have been able to either supply or restore decorative mould interiors for over 150 years, if you would like our involvement on a project contact us here.
