Hodkin & Jones were appointed to supply and install a series of our Chatsworth fibrous plaster columns within this striking double-height residential hallway. The client wanted to introduce classical architectural form to enhance the large open space, adding structure, rhythm, and a sense of refined symmetry throughout the interior.
Design & Craftsmanship
The Chatsworth column was selected for its balanced proportions, smooth lines, and timeless classical styling. Each column was hand-crafted in our factory using traditional fibrous plaster techniques trusted for more than 160 years:
- Hand-laid plaster with hessian reinforcement
- Precision moulding for consistent profiles
- Finely finished surfaces ready for decoration
Given the tall, open nature of the space, absolute uniformity between each column was essential. Our skilled craftsmen ensured every detail aligned perfectly once installed.
Installation
This project required meticulous planning due to the height of the atrium and the integration with both the ground floor and mezzanine levels.
Our installation team:
